Town of Monaghan Coop

Town of Monaghan Co-Op Ltd., founded in 1901, is a farmer owned and controlled milk processing co-operative servicing 1,050 dairy farmers in Northern Ireland and Counties Monaghan and Cavan.

Total milk supply is approx.500 million litres. The Co-Op operates 2 milk processing sites, one at it’s corporate headquarters in Monaghan town and the other at Artigarvan, near Strabane in Northern Ireland. Whole milk powder and Skim milk powder are manufactured at the Artigarvan site from where product is exported world wide under the “ Leckpatrick” brand. Products manufactured at the Monaghan site include liquid milk, cream, buttermilk, yogurt and desserts for the Irish market. Butter is also manufactured here both for the domestic market and for export under the “ Kerrygold” brand. Town of Monaghan dairy products are sold under the “ Champion” brand in the domestic Irish market.
